Influence of Steel Slag Type on Concrete Shrinkage

Maria Dolores Rubio-Cintas et al.

Summary: Building construction and operations have a significant impact on the environment, with the growing demand for cement leading to increased CO2 emissions. Reductions in global CO2 emissions can be achieved by using low CO2 supplementary cementitious materials and improving the efficient use of cement clinker. Substituting cement with different slags in concrete can result in varying shrinkage characteristics, suggesting that a combination of two different slags can optimize concrete performance.
