Mechanical versus manual chest compressions in the treatment of in-hospital cardiac arrest patients in a non-shockable rhythm: A multi-centre feasibility randomised controlled trial (COMPRESS-RCT)

Summary: The study investigated the feasibility of using mechanical chest compression devices in adult in-hospital cardiac arrest patients through a randomized controlled trial. Results showed that while there were important factors limiting the progression to an effectiveness trial of mechanical CPR in the hospital setting, the findings will inform the design of future in-hospital intervention trials.
