Physiological Disorders and Fruit Quality Attributes in Pomegranate: Effects of Meteorological Parameters, Canopy Position and Acetylsalicylic Acid Foliar Sprays

Pavlina Drogoudi et al.

Summary: Different orientations of the canopy in pomegranate orchards result in varying symptoms of fruit diseases, with light playing a crucial role in fruit yield and quality. Temperature fluctuations are the main cause of cracking and russeting, while increased relative humidity and water movement may contribute to russeting damages. Foliar sprays with acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) effectively reduce russeting, improve peel coloration, and enhance antioxidant content in juice.
