Human Amniotic Membrane: A review on tissue engineering, application, and storage

Recent research focuses on enhancing hAM performance by creating scaffolds mimicking the native membrane structure. Preservation techniques for maintaining biological functions such as angiogenesis, anti-inflammation, antifibrotic, and antibacterial activity are also essential for native hAM and tissue-engineered products.

Chorion and amnion/chorion membranes in oral and periodontal surgery: A systematic review

Summary: This study systematically reviewed the clinical applications of chorion membrane (CM) and amnion/chorion membrane (ACM) in oral tissue regeneration procedures, identifying seven clinical applications in oral and periodontal surgery. CM and ACM were found to be efficient alternatives for periodontal and oral soft tissue regeneration procedures, but further research is needed to demonstrate their role in bone regeneration.

Comparison of amniotic membrane versus the induced membrane for bone regeneration in long bone segmental defects using calcium phosphate cement loaded with BMP-2
