Highly selective and antifouling electrochemical biosensors for sensitive MicroRNA assaying based on conducting polymer polyaniline functionalized with zwitterionic peptide

Dongwei Wang et al.

Summary: Ultrasensitive and low-fouling microRNA electrochemical biosensors were constructed by introducing thiol-terminated antifouling molecules onto polyaniline-modified electrodes. Among the investigated antifouling materials, a newly designed and synthesized peptide showed superior antifouling ability and highest specificity for various microRNA targets. The introduction of antifouling molecules did not compromise the sensitivity of the biosensor, indicating promising applications in developing biofouling-resistant sensors and biosensors.
