The Association between Nutritional Status and In-Hospital Mortality among Patients with Heart Failure-A Result of the Retrospective Nutritional Status Heart Study 2 (NSHS2)

Michal Czapla et al.

Summary: The nutritional status is related to in-hospital mortality of patients with heart failure, with higher nutrition risk screening and higher NYHA grade patients at greater risk of death. However, higher BMI and total cholesterol levels are associated with a decreased risk of death, suggesting the presence of the obesity and lipid paradox.
