Effectiveness of Bundle Interventions on ICU Delirium: A Meta-Analysis

Shan Zhang et al.

Summary: This meta-analysis failed to support the effectiveness of bundle interventions in reducing ICU delirium prevalence and duration, but demonstrated their effectiveness in reducing the proportion of patient-days with coma, hospital length of stay, and 28-day mortality. Larger randomized clinical trials are needed to further evaluate the impact of bundle interventions on ICU delirium and other clinical outcomes.

Effects of Traditional Chinese Medication-Based Bioactive Compounds on Cellular and Molecular Mechanisms of Oxidative Stress

Bo Liang et al.

Summary: Oxidative stress is the imbalance between oxidation and antioxidation in the body, leading to excessive production of oxygen free radicals that cannot be removed, causing damage to cells and tissues. Traditional Chinese medications contain various antioxidant bioactive compounds, studying their mechanisms is important for disease treatment.

Unequal Local Progress Towards Healthy People 2020 Objectives for Stroke and Coronary Heart Disease Mortality

Rebecca C. Woodruff et al.

Summary: The study found that in 2017, a significant number of counties in the United States did not meet the Healthy People 2020 targets or achieve a 20% reduction in stroke and coronary heart disease mortality. These counties showed varying degrees of decline in mortality rates for both conditions and were not limited to traditionally high-mortality areas. Such findings highlight the need to expand focus beyond high-mortality counties in addressing cardiovascular disease prevention and treatment.

Effect of Guanxin V in animal model of acute myocardial infarction

Xiaoxiao Zhang et al.

Summary: In the Syrian hamster model, GXV improved cardiac function, reduced infarct size, limited heart weight index, decreased mast cells and chymase levels, inactivated the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, alleviated myocardial fibrosis and cardiomyocyte apoptosis, thus slowing down ventricular remodeling at post-AMI.
