Effect of topical application of black pepper essential oil on peripheral intravenous catheter insertion: A randomized controlled study

Summary: This study investigated the effects of topical application of black pepper essential oil on the success of peripheral intravenous catheter insertion. The results showed that the use of black pepper essential oil significantly improved vein visibility and reduced the time for vein selection and successful catheter insertion. Satisfaction levels of both patients and nurses were higher in the experimental group compared to the control group.
