Summary: Nanotechnology has the potential to improve food production at the nanometer scale, but concerns about the absorption, translocation, bioavailability, and toxicity of nanoparticles, as well as regulatory issues, have limited its widespread application in agriculture. The biological effects of nanoparticles on plants depend on their properties, application method, and concentration. However, progress in understanding the molecular level interactions between nanoparticles and plants remains limited.
