The use of computational fluid dynamic technique in ship control design

M. Martelli et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a methodology for developing control systems of surface vessels using computational fluid dynamics techniques and model-based control design. The development of an effective design tool is supported by a simulation platform that models both ship hydrodynamics and propulsion systems. The validation of the methodology is demonstrated through sea trial results for different maneuvers.
