Phonic and Motor Stereotypies in Autism Spectrum Disorder: Video Analysis and Neurological Characterization

Evamaria Lanzarini et al.

Summary: This study investigated the frequency and types of phonic and motor stereotypies in children with ASD, finding that 83.0% of patients exhibited phonic stereotypies, with noncommunicative vocalizations being the most common. Patients with intellectual disability showed higher numbers and variability of motor stereotypies, with specific correlations between certain phonic stereotypies and verbal abilities warranting further investigation.

Autism spectrum disorder and anorexia nervosa: an Italian prospective study

Jacopo Pruccoli et al.

Summary: This study found potential overlaps between psychopathological features of Anorexia Nervosa and Autism Spectrum Disorder, with high prevalence of ASD traits in young inpatients with AN. Significant correlations were detected between ASD traits and specific EDI-3 subscales, independent of BMI. This study is the first to investigate this relationship using gold-standard measures.
