A novel multi-objective optimization method for well control parameters based on PSO-LSSVR proxy model and NSGA-II algorithm

Lian Wang et al.

Summary: This study introduced a new method for multi-objective well controls optimization using SVR proxy model and NSGA-II algorithm, named MOO-PM. By considering NPV and COP as objective functions, and choosing bottom hole pressure of production wells and water injection rate of injection wells as optimization variables, the MOO-PM method achieved better results with higher efficiency.

A data-driven shale gas production forecasting method based on the multi-objective random forest regression

Liang Xue et al.

Summary: The study proposes a multi-objective random forest method to predict dynamic shale gas production data, utilizing geological and hydraulic fracturing properties as predictive input features. By determining appropriate hyperparameters, considering variable importance, and incorporating features such as initial peak production rate, the predictive accuracy can be significantly improved. Additionally, it is found that using more sample data with less measurement errors can increase the accuracy of the data-driven shale gas production model.

Movable oil content evaluation of lacustrine organic-rich shales: Methods and a novel quantitative evaluation model

Tao Hu et al.

Summary: Lacustrine shale oil resources are abundant and important for economy sustainability, but the uncertainty in movable oil content evaluation presents challenges. Various methods exist, but accuracy, test procedures, costs, and application limitations are issues. This study reviewed theories, techniques, and methods for movable oil content evaluation in lacustrine shales, establishing a quantitative estimation model for movable oil content globally.

Experimental Investigation about Gas Transport in Tight Shales: An Improved Relationship between Gas Slippage and Petrophysical Properties

Feng Yang et al.

Summary: This study combines experimental and theoretical investigations on gas transport in shales. Gas apparent permeability coefficients and Klinkenberg slippage factors were determined on Longmaxi shales using different gases, with a model proposed to interpret the experimentally determined gas slippage factor. The model was validated by correlating Klinkenberg-corrected permeabilities and gas slippage factors of shales probed by various gases.
