Resonance study of spring pendulum based on asymptotic solutions with polynomial approximation in quadratic means

Grazyna Sypniewska-Kaminska et al.

Summary: This study applies the method of multiple scales in time domain to investigate the nonlinearities in pendulum-type systems, using a polynomial approximation in quadratic means. In contrast to traditional Taylor series approximations, the proposed method approximates trigonometric functions on a given interval instead of a point. Results show that the multiple scales method based on this approach can provide high quality and accurate solutions.

Primary resonance suppression of a base excited oscillator using a spatially constrained system: Theory and experiment

J. Zhou et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the dynamic behaviors of a magnetically coupled oscillator with two degrees-of-freedom, focusing on the energy distribution between components and the effect of saturation behavior on the moving amplitude of the excited system. The bifurcation diagrams reveal complex responses when excitation frequency and amplitude change, with comparisons among analytical predictions, numerical simulations, and experimental tests showing the system's effectiveness in transferring energy and observing jumping and saturation phenomena.

Novel Finite-Time Reliable Control Design for Memristor-Based Inertial Neural Networks With Mixed Time-Varying Delays

Lanfeng Hua et al.

Summary: This brief paper researches the issue of finite-time stabilization for memristor-based inertial neural networks with mixed time-varying delays using a new analytical method. A reliable control strategy is proposed and theoretical results are obtained to guarantee the finite-time stabilization, with simulations demonstrating the correctness and practicability of the results.

The asymptotic analysis for the motion of 3DOF dynamical system close to resonances

M. A. Bek et al.

Summary: This study explores the nonlinear motion of a double pendulum using multiple scales technique to solve the equations of motion and achieves solvability conditions for the solutions at steady-state in view of the investigated resonance cases. Modulation equations are established and a strong consistency is found between the achieved results and the numerical ones.
