Induction of Systemic Resistance against Bacterial Leaf Streak Disease and Growth Promotion in Rice Plant by Streptomyces shenzhenesis TKSC3 and Streptomyces sp. SS8

Erneeza Mohd Hata et al.

Summary: The genus Streptomyces shows great potential in promoting plant growth and protecting plants from pathogens. Treatment with selected Streptomyces strains improved seed germination and vigor in rice, while also effectively suppressing Xoc infection. Consortium treatment TKSC3 + SS8 demonstrated the highest disease suppression efficiency and induced the highest levels of defense-related enzymes, making it the best choice for controlling BLS disease.

Plant Growth-Promoting Bacteria as an Emerging Tool to Manage Bacterial Rice Pathogens

Mohamad Syazwan Ngalimat et al.

Summary: Rice is a major food crop consumed by nearly 90% of the population in Asia, with increasing interest in the health of rice plants and control of bacterial pathogens. Plant growth-promoting bacteria show promise in controlling bacterial rice pathogens, enhancing rice plant growth, and providing an eco-friendly alternative to traditional methods.

A Review on the Biotechnological Applications of the Operational Group Bacillus amyloliquefaciens

Mohamad Syazwan Ngalimat et al.

Summary: Members of the operational group Bacillus amyloliquefaciens (OGBa) are Gram-positive, endospore-forming, rod-shaped bacteria that have potential applications as plant growth promoters, biocontrol agents, probiotics, bioremediation agents, as well as producers of commercial enzymes and antibiotics. They show promise in removing organophosphorus pesticides.
