Anti-diabetic and hypolipidemic effects of Cinnamon cassia bark extracts: an in vitro, in vivo, and in silico approach

K. Vijayakumar et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the anti-diabetic and hypolipidemic potential of Cinnamon cassia bark in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats. The ethanolic extract of C. cassia bark showed better inhibitory activity compared to the aqueous and methanolic extracts. In docking studies, 9-octadecenoic acid strongly interacted with PPAR alpha/gamma. Treatment with C. cassia restored the levels of diabetic markers, enzymes, and lipid profiles in STZ-induced rats.

Biological and computational studies provide insights into Caesalphinia digyna Rottler stems

Nazim Uddin Emon et al.

Summary: Caesalpinia digyna stem extract (MECD) exhibited significant antidiarrheal, antibacterial, and antifungal properties in both in vivo and in vitro experiments. The study showed that the chemical constituents of Caesalpinia digyna could be a potent source of anti-diarrheal, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal medicine, but further research is needed to establish the effectiveness of bioactive compounds.
