Phenol-rich fulvic acid as a water additive enhances growth, reduces stress, and stimulates the immune system of fish in aquaculture

Thora Lieke et al.

Summary: This study demonstrated a new pathway of immunostimulation through the gills, using a fulvic acid-rich substance to improve growth, reduce food conversion ratio, enhance stress resistance, and increase lysozyme activity and total oxyradical scavenging capacity in fish. The high phenolic content of the fulvic acid improved overall health and stress resistance of the fish.
