MYD88 L265P mutation and interleukin-10 detection in cerebrospinal fluid are highly specific discriminating markers in patients with primary central nervous system lymphoma: results from a prospective study

Andres J. M. Ferreri et al.

Summary: This study found that high levels of mut-MYD88 and IL-10 in the CSF of patients with PCNSL reflect the MYD88 mutational status and expression of this IL in PCNSL tissue, showing very high sensitivity and specificity for detecting PCNSL at initial diagnosis and relapse. These biomarkers could have implications for patients with lesions unsuitable for biopsy.

CSF interleukin 6 is a useful marker to distinguish pseudotumoral CNS inflammatory diseases from primary CNS lymphoma

Aurelian Ungureanu et al.

Summary: The study indicates that CSF IL-6 levels could serve as a useful biomarker in the differential diagnosis of CNSID and suspected PCNSL, in addition to CSF IL-10.

Clinical significance of interleukin-10 concentration in the cerebrospinal fluid of patients with primary central nervous system lymphoma

Mingying Geng et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the value of interleukin (IL)-10 in the diagnostic and prognostic evaluation of primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL). CSF IL-10 levels could serve as a sensitive biomarker guiding differential diagnosis, early recurrence detection, prognostic evaluation and therapeutic strategy establishment in cases of PCNSL. High CSF IL-10 levels were associated with low Karnofsky performance scale scores and shortened progression-free survival times.
