Summary: Long-term antiviral therapy cannot eliminate the risk of liver cancer in patients with chronic hepatitis B. The burden of metabolic risk factors is positively associated with an increased risk of developing HCC, non-HCC cancer, and all-cause mortality in these patients, with those having >= 3 metabolic risk factors showing higher risks.
