Anisotropic complex refractive index of β-Ga2O3 bulk and epilayer evaluated by terahertz time-domain spectroscopy

Verdad C. Agulto et al.

Summary: By utilizing terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS), the properties of Homoepitaxial film and semi-insulating bulk beta-Ga2O3 with (001) orientation were studied. The noninvasive and contact-free evaluation through THz-TDS proved to be a powerful tool for probing and obtaining information about beta-Ga2O3 materials, aiding in the development of beta-Ga2O3-based device applications.

Hybrid Perovskite Terahertz Photoconductive Antenna

Petr A. Obraztsov et al.

Summary: Hybrid organic-inorganic perovskites have shown potential in the development of scalable photoconductive terahertz emitters, with their optoelectronic properties chemically engineerable for desired applications. This study explores the characteristics of polycrystalline perovskite films for THz emission and provides insights into carrier lifetime and mobility using alternative noninvasive methods, showing their competitiveness with traditional semiconductors in THz emission.

Ultrafast Control of Magnetic Anisotropy by Resonant Excitation of 4f Electrons and Phonons in Sm0.7Er0.3FeO3

Gabriel Fitzky et al.

Summary: We investigated the ultrafast dynamics of spin reorientation transition in orthoferrite Sm0.7Er0.3FeO3 under different pumping mechanisms. There is a finite time delay for spin reorientation with phonon pumping, while an instantaneous response is found for resonant f-f excitation. This suggests that 4f electronic pumping can directly alter magnetic anisotropy at femtosecond timescales.
