MicroRNAs expression associated with aggressive clinicopathological features and poor prognosis in primary cutaneous melanomas

Rosa Murria Estal et al.

Summary: This study identified microRNAs associated with aggressive clinicopathological features and poor prognosis in melanoma. Overexpression of miR-138-5p and miR-130b-3p was significantly correlated with greater Breslow thickness, ulceration, and mitosis, with miR-130b-3p overexpression predicting poorer survival. These findings support the existence of a microRNA expression profile that may serve as a potential prognostic marker for melanoma.

Interplay between p53 and non-coding RNAs in the regulation of EMT in breast cancer

Sergey Parfenyev et al.

Summary: The epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) plays a pivotal role in tumorigenesis, enabling cancer cells to become drug-resistant and acquire the ability to metastasize. miRNAs are instrumental in regulating EMT and their association with p53 and EMT is of particular interest in breast cancer research.
