Rhytidhysteron mexicanum sp. nov. (Dothideomycetes, Ascomycota) from the Sierra of Guadalupe, Trans Mexican Volcanic Belt

Summary: A novel dothideomycete species, Rhytidhysteron mexicanum, characterized by boat-shaped hysterothecia when immature and apothecia with fluted margins when mature, was described and illustrated in this study. The morphology and phylogenetic analysis of this new species were compared with other Rhytidhysteron species, with a dichotomous key provided for the five known species of Rhytidhysteron in Mexico.
