Cellulose acetate nanofibers loaded with crude annatto extract: Preparation, characterization, and in vivo evaluation for potential wound healing applications

Ana Elisa Antunes dos Santos et al.

Summary: In this study, annatto-loaded cellulose acetate nanofiber scaffolds were prepared and evaluated for their potential in wound healing applications. The addition of annatto did not affect the stability of the polymer, and showed no cytotoxicity in cell culture assays. Fibroblasts were able to spread and penetrate into the nanofibers, indicating potential for wound healing.
