Diagnosis of wind turbine faults with transfer learning algorithms

Wanqiu Chen et al.

Summary: This study presents a framework for fault diagnosis of wind turbine faults using transfer learning algorithms Inception V3 and TrAdaBoost, and introduces a new evaluation index 'Comprehensive Index'. Traditional machine learning algorithms perform poorly for unbalanced and differently distributed datasets, while the novel transfer learning algorithm TrAdaBoost shows superior performance in dealing with such challenges.

Failure analysis of a composite wind turbine blade at the adhesive joint of the trailing edge

Roham Rafiee et al.

Summary: This article investigates the trailing edge failure of a commercial wind turbine blade, focusing on the impact of adhesive thickness and band width on the structural integrity of the blade. Through static analysis and sub-part modeling, the study examines the failure of adhesive joints under different conditions and extracts the proper dimensions of adhesive to withstand various conditions of the wind turbine blade.

Design of a composite wind turbine blade manufactured with the ONE SHOT BLADE® technology

Michele Damiano et al.

Summary: This work introduces the design steps of a 10-meter long fiberglass wind turbine blade, taking into account the innovative ONE SHOT BLADE (R) technology for one-piece production. Critical deflection analyses, considering the most severe loading condition, were performed to verify compliance with international small wind turbine blade design regulations.
