Broadband optical spin dependent reflection in self-assembled GaAs-based nanowires asymmetrically hybridized with Au

Emilija Petronijevic et al.

Summary: Hybridization of semiconductor nanostructures with asymmetric metallic layers offers new paths to circular polarization control and chiral properties. The study on GaAs-based nanowires reveals optical spin-dependent specular reflection in the 680-1000 nm spectral range when the orientation of the golden layers follows the rule of extrinsic chirality. A novel, time-efficient numerical method is proposed to analyze the far-field intensity and distribution of scattered light from sparse NW ensembles, showing good agreement with theoretical predictions.

Rich Near-Infrared Chiral Behavior in Diffractive Metasurfaces

E. Petronijevic et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates the rich chiral broadband response in the near-infrared range using low-cost diffractive metasurfaces fabricated by nanosphere lithography. Experimental and numerical results are in agreement, and it is shown that tailoring chirality by matching different refractive indexes is feasible. Additionally, the research explores chiral emission in electric dipoles embedded in a refractive-index-matching layer, providing new perspectives for chiral surface-lattice resonances and emissions in affordable materials.
