Phytochemical constituents, antioxidant and antistaphylococcal activities of Evernia prunastri (L.) Ach., Pseudevernia furfuracea (L.) Zopf. and Ramalina farinacea (L.) Ach. from Morocco

Noura Aoussar et al.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the chemical composition, antibacterial activity, and antioxidant activity of methanol extracts from three lichens collected in Morocco. The phytochemical analysis revealed that Pseudevernia furfuracea extract had the strongest effect and highest phenolic compounds content. All extracts exhibited antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus isolates, with the extract of Evernia prunastri showing the strongest inhibition.
