Circulating CD103+ γδ and CD8+ T cells are clonally shared with tissue-resident intraepithelial lymphocytes in celiac disease

Louise F. Risnes et al.

Summary: In celiac disease patients, gluten challenge leads to an increase in specific gamma delta and CD8(+) alpha beta T cells, while CD4(+) T cells appear to drive the expansion of clonally diverse gamma delta or CD8(+) alpha beta T-cell clonotypes. Extensive clonal sharing was observed between blood and gut T cells, regardless of gluten challenge.
