A new species of Potentilla (Potentilleae, Rosaceae) from central China, with reference to molecular and morphological evidence

Summary: Potentilla sunhangii, a new species from the Jin-hou-ling Mountains in Shen-nong-jia Forest District of Hubei province, China, has palmately 3 foliolate leaves and is morphologically similar to P. saundersiana but distinguished by its dense array of glands and green leaf surfaces. Molecular phylogenetic analysis confirms its placement in the Potentilla genus, within the Argentea clade.

Trichosanthes sunhangii (Cucurbitaceae), a new species from Hubei, China

Summary: Trichosanthes sunhangii is a new species of Cucurbitaceae described and illustrated in this study. It is morphologically similar to T. kirilowii Maxim. and T. rosthornii Harms, but can be easily distinguished by its bracts, tendrils, and fruits. Phylogenetic analyses based on DNA barcode markers grouped two accessions of T. sunhangii together in Sect. Foliobracteola with high statistical support.
