A succinct enhanced luminescence strategy for fluorescent ionic liquids and the application for detecting CO2

Summary: The introduction of fluorophore into ionic liquid (IL) to amplify fluorescence signal via thermally activated delayed fluorescence process resulted in up to 15 fold enhancements. This enhanced luminescence strategy can reduce single-triplet energy split by the tunability of ILs, and has the potential to be extended to more IL types. Additionally, the optical feature of IL sensor makes it a promising candidate for gas fluorescence sensor applications.

Rheological properties of hydrogels based on ionic liquids

Summary: Hydrogels based on polymerized ionic liquids are increasingly used in the medical and pharmaceutical industry due to their biocompatibility, flexibility, and resistance to external stress. Mechanical properties of ten different polymerized ionic liquid-based hydrogels were investigated, revealing a wide range of critical strains in stretching and compression measurements, as well as a linear viscoelastic range in shear, allowing for improved design and material selection for medical applications.

Summary: A multifunctional and conductive hydrogel dressing developed in this study based on polymerized ionic liquid and konjac glucomannan showed excellent mechanical properties, biocompatibility, and an efficient sterilization effect. When combined with electrical stimulation, it significantly improved fibroblast cell migration and proliferation, as well as the treatment effect on diabetic skin wounds, providing a novel strategy for efficiently treating chronic wounds.

This study aims to diversify HILs by synthesizing two sets of HILs with unique cations and anions, totaling twenty different HILs. Each HIL is characterized using traditional physicochemical techniques and evaluated for toxicity using both in vitro and in vivo methods.
