Comparative study of hydrogen embrittlement resistance between additively and conventionally manufactured 304L austenitic stainless steels

Dong-Hyun Lee et al.

Summary: A comparison was made on the hydrogen embrittlement in 304L austenitic stainless steel fabricated by LPBF and conventionally produced samples. The findings suggest that the solidification substructure in LPBF samples enhances strength without promoting harmful hydrogen embrittlement effects. The study also discusses the chemical inhomogeneity, hydrogen-assisted cracking behavior, and hydrogen diffusion and trapping in these 304L samples.

Performance of fiber reinforced materials under cryogenic conditions-A review

Joerg Hohe et al.

Summary: The demand for lightweight fuel vessels for future launch vehicles in aerospace technology and hydrogen technology in terrestrial applications has led to the need for validated procedures for assessing fiber reinforced plastic structures under cryogenic environments. This study focuses on the assessment of FRP materials under cryogenic temperatures, covering aspects such as strength, toughness, failure mechanisms, and characterization procedures for material data determination.
