Conversion of T Follicular Helper Cells to T Follicular Regulatory Cells by Interleukin-2 Through Transcriptional Regulation in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

Summary: In patients with SLE, the proportion of Tfh cells increased, while the activated Tfr cells decreased. IL-2 induced the conversion of memory Tfh cells to functional Tfr cells by binding to FOXP3 and BCL6 gene loci accompanied by suppression of H3K27me3. IL-2 stimulation suppressed the generation of CD38+CD27 high plasmablasts in Tfh and B cell coculture assays.

SLAMs Negatively Regulate IL-21 Production in Tfh-Like Cells from Allergic Rhinitis Patients

Summary: The study found that the frequencies of circulating CD4+CXCR5+ Tfh-like cells in allergic rhinitis (AR) patients remained largely unchanged, but the expression of SLAMs and SAP on circulating Tth-like cells was significantly decreased. Additionally, serum IL-21 levels were increased in AR patients, with a negative correlation between IL-21 levels and SLAM or SAP expression on CD4+CXCR5+ T cells. The findings suggest that SLAMs negatively regulate IL-21 production in CD4+CXCR5+ Tth-like cells, contributing to the pathogenesis of AR.
