Highly selective and stable nickel catalysts supported on ceria promoted with Sm2O3, Pr2O3 and MgO for the CO2 methanation reaction

G. Siakavelas et al.

Summary: This study investigated the catalytic performance of Ni catalysts supported on different CeO2-based oxides for the methanation of CO2. It was found that the addition of Sm3+ or Pr3+ generated oxygen vacancies on the catalyst surface, improving the catalytic activity, while the addition of Mg2+ reinforced the resistance against sintering of Ni/Mg-Ce catalyst.

Catalytic performance of Ni catalysts supported on CeO2 with different morphologies for low-temperature CO2 methanation

Thapanee Jomjaree et al.

Summary: This study prepared a series of Ni catalysts supported on CeO2 with different morphologies and evaluated their catalytic performance for low-temperature CO2 methanation. Among these catalysts, Ni/CeO2-PH exhibited the highest CO2 conversion and CH4 selectivity, making it the optimum catalyst for this reaction.

Design Aspects of Doped CeO2 for Low-Temperature Catalytic CO Oxidation: Transient Kinetics and DFT Approach

Summary: Eliminating CO through oxidation over highly active and cost-effective catalysts is important for industrial and environmental processes. Doped CeO2 with transition metals was tested for CO oxidation, showing that Cu-Ce-O catalyst has the highest activity. The involvement of lattice oxygen species in the reaction and the effectiveness of different heteroatoms were investigated and quantified.
