Arctigenin Triggers Apoptosis and Autophagy via PI3K/Akt/mTOR Inhibition in PC-3M Cells

Summary: In this study, Arctigenin was found to have anti-tumor effects on prostate cancer cells PC-3M by inducing apoptosis and autophagy through the PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway. ARG inhibited cell proliferation, induced apoptosis and autophagy in PC-3M cells. Further studies showed that treatment with LY294002 enhanced the effects of ARG on apoptosis and autophagy-related proteins expression, suggesting that ARG may induce apoptosis and autophagy through the PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway.
