MondoA-Thioredoxin-Interacting Protein Axis Maintains Regulatory T-Cell Identity and Function in Colorectal Cancer Microenvironment

Ying Lu et al.

Summary: In colorectal cancer, intratumoral regulatory T cells (Tregs) exhibit low activity of the MondoA-thioredoxin-interacting protein (TXNIP) axis and increased glucose uptake. While MondoA-deficient Tregs promoted Th1 responses in a subcutaneous colorectal cancer model, Treg-specific MondoA knockout mice were more susceptible to colorectal cancer induction.

Burden of Tracheal, Bronchus, and Lung Cancer and Its Attributable Risk Factors in 204 Countries and Territories, 1990 to 2019

Saeid Safiri et al.

Summary: This study identified a decline in the burden of tracheal, bronchus, and lung (TBL) cancer globally, but with some countries experiencing an increase. Incidence and death rates were higher in males than females, and increased with aging population. There were generally positive associations between sociodemographic index and DALY rates in different countries.

BLOOD UREA NITROGEN IS ASSOCIATED WITH LONG-TERM ALL-CAUSE MORTALITY IN STABLE ANGINA PECTORIS PATIENTS: 8-YEAR FOLLOW-UP RESULTS

Mustafa Cetin et al.

Summary: Elevation of blood urea nitrogen (BUN) is associated with increased mortality in patients with stable angina pectoris (SAP). BUN concentration above 16.1 mg/dl has a high sensitivity for predicting mortality in these patients.

Dopamine Pathway Mediated by DRD5 Facilitates Tumor Growth via Enhancing Warburg Effect in Esophageal Cancer

Xiaozhe Qian et al.

Summary: Esophageal cancer is highly aggressive and has poor survival rates globally. Studies have shown that dopamine accumulation in tumor tissues, especially in patients with lymphatic metastasis, can stimulate the proliferation of EC tumor cells through the DRD5-mediated pathway. Activation of the dopamine pathway also enhances glucose uptake and lactate production, leading to the promotion of the Warburg effect in EC tumor cells.
