Heat Transfer and Fluid Dynamics of Nanofluid Droplets Impacting on a Smooth Heated Surface: Detailing Temporal Scale Effects by Using Time-Resolved Thermography

Summary: This study experimentally characterizes the fluid dynamics and heat transfer processes between a nanofluid droplet and a heated smooth surface. Results show that the presence of nanoparticles enhances heat transfer at low impact velocities and earlier stages after impact, but deteriorates at higher impact velocities and later stages of impact, despite the nanofluid droplets having a larger spreading diameter than water droplets.
