Timing resolution of a plastic scintillator counter read out by radiation damaged SiPMs connected in series

G. Boca et al.

Summary: This paper discusses the effects of radiation damage to SiPMs on the performances of plastic scintillator counters with series-connected SiPM readout, focusing on timing measurements. It was found that the timing resolution deteriorated with the increase in dark current due to different irradiation levels, but cooling the counter to a lower temperature reduced the dark current and deterioration. The study also showed that non-uniform damage levels on SiPMs can affect signal pulse height, time response, and timing resolution in the counters.

Measurement of the Positive Muon Anomalous Magnetic Moment to 0.46 ppm

B. Abi et al.

Summary: The experiment presented the first results of the Fermilab National Accelerator Laboratory (FNAL) Muon g - 2 Experiment for the positive muon magnetic anomaly a(mu) (g(mu) - 2)/2, which determined the anomaly from precision measurements of two angular frequencies. The result showed a deviation of 3.3 standard deviations from the standard model prediction, in agreement with previous measurements, increasing the tension between experiment and theory.

A photogrammetric method for target monitoring inside the MEG II detector

G. Cavoto et al.

Summary: An automatic target monitoring method using a CMOS photo-camera has been developed for the MEG II detector, offering high resolution and radiation tolerance. The method successfully monitors target movements and deformations, overcoming challenges such as high magnetic fields and space constraints, to ensure accurate measurements of particle trajectories.
