Long-term tea plantation effects on composition and stabilization of soil organic matter in Southwest China

Shuqin He et al.

Summary: Tea plantation is beneficial for increasing SOC and humic substances content, enhancing soil humification, and improving soil humus quality. The soil in a 25-year-old tea plantation had higher SOC content and lower H/C and O/C ratios in HA, FA, and HM, indicating better soil humus quality.

Enhancing cadmium extraction potential of Brassica napus: Effect of rhizosphere interactions

Longcheng Li et al.

Summary: The study found that intercropping oilseed rape with daikon resulted in decreased shoot and root biomass, while intercropping with white lupin increased the dry biomass of oilseed rape. Intercropping with daikon enhanced the shoot Cd concentration of oilseed rape, while intercropping with white lupin increased the uptake of Cd by oilseed rape. The results suggest that intercropping with white lupin may contribute to higher biomass and increased Cd uptake by oilseed rape.
