Summary: Soft electronics have been widely used in wearable devices, hand gesture recognition, and human robot interaction. This study introduces a soft wrist-worn sensor system (SWSS) with electromyography (EMG) and strain/pressure sensing capabilities for continuous hand gesture recognition. The results show that SWSS has good wearability and high accuracy in hand gesture recognition, even during long-term monitoring.

Special post-treatment process makes the conductive ink formulation compatible with a wide range of substrates, suitable for Roll-to-Roll applications, providing a new solution to high-efficiency, low-cost, large-scale production of printed flexible electronics.

Summary: The study demonstrates the fabrication of superstretchable Li-S batteries based on highly elastic gel cathodes, gel electrolytes, zigzag Cu wire-interconnected Li anode pieces and soft packages. The gel cathodes with tri-continuous structures and gel electrolytes with high ionic conductivity and thermal stability show effective suppression of Li dendrite growth and allow the batteries to be stretched up to 420% of their original length, function at high temperatures and deliver ultrahigh areal capacity.

Flexible aqueous lithium-ion batteries with ultrahigh areal capacity and long cycle life

Summary: A facile and scalable infiltration method was used to fabricate free-standing three-dimensional flexible electrodes, exemplified by LiTi2(PO4)(3) and LiMn2O4, for aqueous Li-ion batteries. The flexible electrodes exhibited high areal capacity, high rate capability, and stable cycling stability, as well as high mechanical and electrochemical stability. This work offers a low-cost and effective strategy to fabricate high areal capacity electrodes with stable electrochemical performance, high mechanical strength, and excellent flexibility.
