Lapses in perceptual decisions reflect exploration

Summary: The study demonstrates that previous explanations for errors in perceptual decision-making cannot account for their stimulus dependence, proposing a new explanation based on a strategic trade-off between exploiting known rewarding actions and exploring uncertain ones.
