Changes in diversity and community assembly of jumping spiders (Araneae: Salticidae) after rainforest conversion to rubber and oil palm plantations

Andre Junggebauer et al.

Summary: The study compares salticid spider communities in different land-use systems in Jambi Province, Sumatra, Indonesia and finds that salticid richness is highest in jungle rubber, similar to rainforest, but different from oil palm and rubber plantations. The research highlights the importance of habitat filtering in shaping salticid spider communities in monoculture plantations and provides insights into mechanisms shaping arthropod top predator communities in canopies of tropical ecosystems.
