Jinshui Liu et al.

Summary: A environmentally friendly turn-on fluorescent method for detecting HQ and CC was developed using fluorescent polymer nanoparticles synthesized by crosslinking protamine sulfate with HQ or CC in an aqueous solution. The method showed a linear relationship between fluorescence intensity and HQ or CC concentration, with detection limits of 0.21 and 0.33 mu M, and high selectivity with no interferences from common substances. This method successfully detected HQ and CC in spiked water samples with satisfactory results.
