Coseismic landslides induced by the 2018 Mw6.6 Iburi, Japan, Earthquake: spatial distribution, key factors weight, and susceptibility regionalization

Ming Chang et al.

Summary: This research aims to analyze the spatial distribution features of coseismic landslides in the Iburi earthquake in Japan, identify key factors weights, and establish an effective susceptibility regionalization model. By comparing data from similar magnitude earthquakes, the improved weight of evidence method was found to provide a more accurate susceptibility map for the Iburi earthquake.

The use of UAVs for landslide disaster risk research and disaster risk management: a literature review

Ricardo J. Garnica-Pena et al.

Summary: This paper analyzes the contribution of the international landslide research community to disaster risk reduction and management through a literature review on the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). The study found that current scholarly efforts focus on hazards and post-disaster evaluation and response, suggesting a need for future transdisciplinary research to strengthen stakeholder participation in disaster risk management at various levels.

Initiation mechanism of mudflow-like loess landslide induced by the combined effect of earthquakes and rainfall

Xiaowu Pu et al.

Summary: Research has shown that the mechanical properties of Q3 loess change significantly when soaked in water and are further reduced under dynamic action. Model test results indicate that the infiltration depth at the slope top is deeper than at the slope surface after heavy rainfall, and the natural frequency at the shoulder of the slope top is closer to the loading wave frequency, causing a more significant amplification effect of seismic ground motion.
