Hanae Saito et al.

Summary: This study compared the efficacy of two different materials for alveolar ridge preservation and found significant differences in mineralized tissue formation but comparable outcomes in terms of maintaining alveolar bone dimensions, feasibility of implant placement, implant survival, and peri-implant bone level stability up to 12 months post-loading between the two groups.

Adhesive system with alpha-tricalcium phosphate addition for mineral deposition on caries-affected dentin

Priscila Raquel Schiroky et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the influence of alpha-TCP on the physical-chemical properties of an experimental adhesive resin and the immediate and long-term properties of caries-affected dentin. The addition of alpha-TCP increased the initial Knoop hardness of the adhesive resin and the hardness of caries-affected dentin. There was no significant difference in other properties such as softening in solvent, polymerization rate, degree of conversion, microtensile bond strength, and mineral deposition.

Synergistic effect of graphene oxide/calcium phosphate nanofiller in a dentin adhesive on its dentin bond integrity and degree of conversion. A scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared, micro-Raman, and bond strength study

Basil Almutairi et al.

Summary: The study utilized various characterization methods to test a dentin adhesive incorporating graphene oxide and calcium phosphate composite, showing that adding 5% of the composite can improve bond strength and result in uniform distribution, appropriate interaction, and resin tag formation in the adhesive.

The Effect of Calcium-Silicate Cements on Reparative Dentinogenesis Following Direct Pulp Capping on Animal Models

Mihai Andrei et al.

Summary: The vitality of dental pulp is essential for maintaining the health and functionality of the tooth. Hydraulic calcium-silicate cements can stimulate reparative dentinogenesis in direct pulp capping procedures, leading to the formation of new dentin bridges. Different degrees of pulp inflammatory response and dentin bridge formation were observed during pulp healing, showing positive effects on tertiary dentin formation and pulp vitality preservation.

Effectiveness of beta-tricalcium phosphate in comparison with other materials in treating periodontal infra-bony defects around natural teeth: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Reham A. L. Jasser et al.

Summary: The use of beta-tricalcium phosphate in regenerative surgery for periodontal infra-bony defects shows promising results compared to debridement alone and comparable results to other bone graft materials. The combination of beta-tricalcium phosphate with growth factors yields superior outcomes in regenerative procedures. However, further randomized clinical trials with larger sample sizes and more controlled study designs are needed to support these findings.

Julia Guerrero-Girones et al.

Summary: This study evaluated and compared the effects of beta-TCP, HA, and C scaffold with MTA on the pup of rat molars. The results showed no significant differences between HA/beta-TCP/C and MTA in terms of inflammation degree, but significant differences were found in reparative dentin formation.

Dentin Bond Integrity of Filled and Unfilled Resin Adhesive Enhanced with Silica Nanoparticles-An SEM, EDX, Micro-Raman, FTIR and Micro-Tensile Bond Strength Study

Aasem M. Alhenaki et al.

Summary: This study aimed to synthesize and evaluate dentin adhesive polymer with and without silica nanoparticles. SEM, EDX, mu TBS test, FTIR, and micro-Raman spectroscopy were used to investigate the shape and incorporation of Si particles, dentin bond toughness, DC, and adhesive-dentin interaction. The addition of 15% and 10% Si particles showed improved bond strength in dentin adhesive, with the highest strength observed in the 15% group. The Si-EA-15% group demonstrated acceptable DC, suitable dentin interaction, and resin tag formation.
