Graft Semi-Interpenetrating Polymer Network Phase Change Materials for Thermal Energy Storage

Nima Alizadeh et al.

Summary: In this study, graft semi-interpenetrating polymer networks (IPNs) were synthesized for phase change applications using poly(ethylene glycol), PEG8000-based polyurethane, and acrylic copolymers. The IPNs showed high thermal and cycling stability, along with excellent shape solidity, indicating enormous potential in various phase change applications. The results were confirmed through a series of experiments investigating the thermal properties, crystallization properties, and surface morphology of the IPNs.

Organic-solvent-free electromembrane extraction based on semi-interpenetrating polymer networks

Hang Mei et al.

Summary: A green, stable, and versatile organic-solvent-free EME system based on semi-IPN was proposed for the extraction and enrichment of drugs from human urine. The system showed high recovery efficiency for both basic and acidic analytes and could be conveniently stored for a long time, promoting the commercialization of EME.

An environmentally friendly wound dressing based on a self-healing, extensible and compressible antibacterial hydrogel

Maryam Tavakolizadeh et al.

Summary: The ultra-tough and self-healable double-network hydrogel designed based on salep/poly(vinyl alcohol) demonstrates superior tissue adhesiveness, high mechanical strength, good tissue adhesiveness, and excellent therapeutic properties for wound healing. The self-healing capability is achieved through interactions between oxidized salep and ethylene diamine-modified salep chains, as well as through the hydroxyl groups of the poly(vinyl alcohol) network. In vitro and in vivo tests confirm that this hydrogel could be a promising candidate for skin tissue regeneration in medical applications.
