Effect of the coating of zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles with binder on the functional and mechanical properties of cotton fabric

Imana Shahrin Tania et al.

Summary: The study investigated the effect of nano ZnO coating on cotton fabric, comparing the results with uncoated fabric. The presence of a binder was found to significantly impact the deposition of nanoparticles as well as the functional and mechanical properties of the fabric. The coated fabric showed improved antimicrobial activity, UV protection, and crease resistance, with some degradation in mechanical properties observed with the application of a binder.
