Performance of fiber metal laminate composites embedded with AL and CU wire mesh

Summary: This work investigates the effect of aluminium and copper wire mesh as structural reinforcement on jute epoxy hybrid composite. The performance of the composite was studied through mechanical, thermal, and dynamic characterizations. Summary: The thermal, thermo-mechanical and flammability properties of kenaf core hybrid polymer nanocomposites reinforced with unbleached and bleached nanocrystalline cellulose were studied. Unbleached NCC had higher lignin content and better stability in thermal and flammability properties compared to bleached NCC. Bleached NCC showed notably lower thermo-mechanical properties in the nanocomposites blend.

However, at 50% SPF content, the lack of interfacial bonding between fibers and matrix decreases the tensile properties of the composite.
