The Effect of Salt on Stability of Aqueous Foams

Oyindamola Obisesan et al.

Summary: The impact of salt on the drainage behavior of aqueous foams was investigated in this study. It was found that NaCl-containing foams showed decreased drainage with lower foam quality, while CaCl2-containing foams did not exhibit a clear trend with foam quality. The effect of salt content on foam rheology was minimal.

A Laboratory Approach to Measure Carbonate Rocks' Adsorption Density by Surfactant and Polymer

Hamid Esfandyari et al.

Summary: Chemical recovery techniques are efficient methods to enhance oil recovery, with the influence of chemical agents and temperature on surfactant adsorption density of carbonate rocks investigated. Higher temperatures result in lower adsorption density, and the addition of hydrolyzed polyacrylamide dramatically decreases adsorption density compared to using surfactant or polymer alone.

Alvinda Sri Hanamertani et al.

Summary: The study introduces a novel water-soluble associative polymer as an additive to enhance the stability and rheological behavior of foam in CO2 injection. The presence of associative polymer significantly increases foam longevity and improves its rheological behavior, leading to higher flow resistance and better compatibility with reservoir conditions. Additionally, the use of associative polymer results in a noticeable improvement in oil recovery efficiency, with a 28% incremental oil recovery achieved compared to polymer-free foam injection.
