Telework and Social Services in Spain during the COVID-19 Pandemic

Aleix Morilla-Luchena et al.

Summary: This paper analyzes teleworking in social services during the state of alarm caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in Spain, with the aim of understanding the profile of teleworking professionals and their perception of working conditions during this period. Results from a questionnaire survey of 560 professionals in the sector show that while teleworking is perceived as an efficient way to overcome limitations from the pandemic, both positive and negative consequences of this work modality should be carefully assessed.

Breastfeeding at the workplace: a systematic review of interventions to improve workplace environments to facilitate breastfeeding among working women

Mireya Vilar-Compte et al.

Summary: Workplace interventions are crucial in promoting, protecting, and supporting breastfeeding among working mothers. These interventions have been shown to increase the duration of breastfeeding and prevent early introduction of breastmilk substitutes. Key strategies include lactation spaces, breastmilk extraction breaks, and organizational policies, but organizational and interpersonal changes are also necessary for equitable working conditions for breastfeeding mothers.
