Chinese versions of the Interpersonal Needs Questionnaire: Psychometric properties, measurement invariance across gender and cultures

Summary: This study validated the Chinese versions of the INQ, assessed measurement invariance across genders and cultures, and found that perceived burdensomeness was significantly associated with suicide ideation. The research also demonstrated that perceived burdensomeness may be a greater risk factor for suicide among Australian undergraduates compared to Chinese undergraduates. Practical and theoretical implications of the study were discussed.
