Efficacy of cyclic therapy with terpinen-4-ol in Demodex blepharitis Is treatment possible by considering Demodex's life cycle?

Ozlem Evren Kemer et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that cyclic treatment with terpinen-4-ol is effective in improving symptoms and tear function tests in patients with Demodex blepharitis. After two cycles of treatment, patients show significant improvements in ocular surface disease index, lid margin score, and tear function tests. However, relapse of symptoms is common in some patients at the 12-month follow-up.

Anti-demodectic effects of okra eyelid patch in Demodex blepharitis compared with tea tree oil

Wenting Liu et al.

Summary: The study investigated the anti-demodectic effects of an okra eyelid patch in patients with Demodex blepharitis. Results showed that the okra eyelid patch treatment significantly reduced Demodex count and alleviated ocular symptoms, although it was not as effective as tea tree oil in terms of improving SIT and CFS.
