Germanium hollow nanodisk resonator for magnetic dipole decay rate enhancement in near-infrared

Erdem Aslan

Summary: Enhancement of magnetic dipole emission in the near-infrared spectrum using germanium hollow nanodisk resonator shows a higher enhancement factor compared to previous studies using dielectric nanostructures. The electromagnetic behavior of the resonator is revealed through near-electromagnetic-field enhancement maps and multipolar decomposition of electromagnetic scattering modes. The research may provide a novel strategy for engineering chip-scale nanophotonic applications.

Near-Field Imaging of Magnetic Complex Mode Volume

Niccolo Caselli et al.

Summary: This research discusses the electromagnetic nature of confined photonic modes through near-field perturbation experiments, focusing on the effect of the imaginary part of the magnetic modal volume VH on the quality factor of confined modes. The study shows how the spatial distribution of both the real and imaginary parts of VH can be inferred through near-field experiments.

Out-of-plane trion emission in monolayer WSe2 revealed by whispering gallery modes of dielectric microresonators

Daniel Andres-Penares et al.

Summary: Out-of-plane photon emission in 2D semiconductors is rare but important for efficient light manipulation in planar optoelectronic devices. By studying the out-of-plane dipolar component of trions in monolayer WSe2, a versatile spectroscopic method has been proposed to identify the orientation of dipoles. This method has demonstrated the existence of dipoles with an out-of-plane orientation in monolayer WSe2, paving the way for on-chip integrated systems with applications in information processing and quantum communications.
